Everything a household runs on

Most of what a home PC does doesn't need an expensive graphics card — it needs to be fast where it counts and just work, every day. Here's where we put the budget.

Web & everyday

Browsing, email, banking, shopping, and a dozen tabs at once — snappy and quiet, with a fast SSD so nothing feels like waiting.

Streaming & media

Smooth 4K streaming, music, and video calls, with the connectivity and quiet running that make it a good fit for a living room or shared space.

Schoolwork & home office

Documents, research, video classes, and working from home — a dependable machine that's ready when the deadline is, with room for the whole workflow.

The family computer

Several user accounts, kids and grown-ups, and years of daily use. Set up clean, built to be serviced rather than replaced, and backed by real support.

Why a custom home PC beats a big-box one

A shelf PC is built to a price and packed with trialware. A build from a shop is a different thing.

No bloatware, clean from day one

A clean copy of Windows with only the drivers you need — no trialware, no pop-ups, nothing quietly slowing it down out of the box.

Right-sized for the household

You pay for what the household actually does. We skip the parts you won't use and spend the budget where you'll feel it — usually a fast SSD and enough memory.

Built to last and be serviced

Name-brand parts in a case that opens, so it can be cleaned, upgraded, and repaired over the years instead of landfilled when something small goes wrong.

A real person to call

When something on the family PC stops making sense, you reach the people who built it. Lifetime support comes with every machine.

Home PC questions

How much does a custom home PC cost?
An everyday home PC is our most affordable kind of build — often in the $700–$1,000 range — because it skips the expensive graphics card a gaming or workstation machine needs. We size it to what you actually do, so you're not paying for power the family won't use. Not sure what you need?
Do I need a graphics card for a home PC?
For web, streaming, office work, and schoolwork, no — modern processors include graphics that handle all of it smoothly, which keeps the build quieter and cheaper. You only need a dedicated card for games or creative work like photo and video editing, and we can add one when that's the plan.
Is a custom PC a good choice for a family computer?
It's a great choice. A custom build is set up clean — no trialware slowing it down — runs quiet, handles several user accounts and a houseful of tabs, and is built to last for years and be serviced rather than replaced. And it comes with real support when someone has a question.
Can a home PC handle a little gaming?
Absolutely — add a graphics card and an everyday machine becomes a capable 1080p gaming PC. If gaming is a real priority, our custom gaming PC page is the better starting point; if it's the occasional game, we'll build a home PC with room for it.
How long will a home PC last?
Years longer than a typical big-box machine. We use name-brand, factory-sealed parts in a case that opens, so it can be cleaned, upgraded, and serviced over time. Every build includes a 3-year warranty and lifetime support, and we ship nationwide or you can pick up locally near Rochester.
